We are raising salmon in our classroom for release in the Hammond River. This important program educates children about the importance of being good stewards of the environment,

Here's how we calculated the VOLUME of water in our tank
1. We dumped 12 buckets into our tank.
2. Each bucket held 8 L of water.
3. Using our Mental Math skills, we split the 12 into 10 and 2.
4. Then we multiplied 10 x 8 and 2 x 8.
5. We added the products together and got 96.
6. That's how we know we added 96 L of water!
